Story behind the picture: | The photo was taken in the fall of 2015 at Blue Hen Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. There was a collection of fallen leaves at the base of the falls, and I noticed they were caught spinning very slowly in a circle off to the side where the flow didn’t carry them away. I climbed over for this angle and used a 30-second exposure to capture the rotation. The result was a smooth circular pattern of a lot of colorful leaves, which is seen in the image.
It was taken with a Canon 6d camera and Canon 24-105mm lens. The camera was on a tripod and I used a series of LEE filters to darken the scene and allow for a correctly exposed 30-second shot. |
