Join us to see how prescribed burns can help to maintain a prairie. Frohring Meadow has a 100 acre tall grass prairie and wet sedge meadow habitat where grassland birds and migrating shorebirds can be found. Grassland habitat is unusual in our region, therefore, it attracts species not normally encountered. In early spring part of this prairie was burned to naturally maintain this herbaceous acreage. Over 40 species of prairie plants are encouraged and there is a demonstration garden plot showing examples of each one.
