SUMMARY:Urban Birding Event
DESCRIPTION:Western Cuyahoga Audubon is having a VERY special event in early November. Urban Birder\, author and naturalist\, David Lindo\, will be in Cleveland November 2 through 9th. That week a whole bunch of birding and other activities will be taking place in and around Cleveland. Here is a link to the site.  https://www.wcaudubon.org/urban-birding-with-david-lindo-2019.html \nI highly encourage you to spread the word among birders\, naturalists\, educators\, those working with youth and/or underserved communities\, and others.  This will be a terrific way to meet a dynamic presenter who’ll encourage birding\, and just naturalizing (?) in general\, in an urban setting AND how much of an impact getting outdoors can be for young people. \nPlan to attend some of the programming listed\, for some there is a minimal cost\, for others registering on the WCAS website is encouraged. David’s book will be for sale at many of the events.  A quick shout-out to the Conservation Lab group that has been and is the driving force to bring David to Cleveland.  Thank you everyone\, I hope to see many of you at some of the events. \nNancy J. SUMMARY:Migrating Waterfowl Dates Added
DESCRIPTION:Once the pretty summer songbirds have departed for points south\, what do birders do?  They put on another layer of clothes and go looking for waterfowl – Ducks\, Geese\, Swans\, Loons\, Grebes & Gulls.  This presentation showcases these hardy visitors along with Hawks\, Owls and smaller birds like Snow Buntings\, Larkspurs and Kinglets.  If you don’t like cold weather\, ask about ‘car birding’\, a favorite alternative to walking when wind chills plummet!  About 1 hour in length. \nNov 6\, 7-8pm: Friends of Hiram College Library\, Prichard Room\, 11694 Hayden Street\, Hiram\, OH \nNovember 13\, 7-8pm\, North Royalton Library\, 5071 Wallings Road\, North Royalton\, OH \nNovember 26\, 7-8pm\, Akron Audubon\, Mingo Lodge\, 1501 Sand Run Parkway\, Akron\, OH
