DESCRIPTION:All About Birds is a NEW program for girls and boys grade 6 – 12! \nDuring this 3+ hour program\, you will learn about binoculars\, wildlife rehabilitation\, and bird art.\n \nParticipate in the 1-hour Raptor Encounter\, presented by Lake Metroparks Penitentiary Glen. See real birds and learn how sick and injured wildlife are rehabilitated and released back into the wild. \nTake a hike\, led by expert birder Matt Valencic\, and learn to identify what you see and hear!\n \nParticipants will take home ODNR’s “Common Birds” field guide and our nifty All About Birds hummingbird patch among other cool things. \nCost is $5 per person. SUMMARY:Almost Full Moon  Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:The August full moon is known as the Sturgeon Moon. This month it falls on Monday the 7th. The closest weekend night we could schedule is August 4th. We will not be viewing any sturgeon but we may hear Owls\, Deer\, Coyotes\, Raccoons\, Frogs and other residents of our Novak Sanctuary. Bring a flashlight because we will be completing this hike after dark. Meet at the Novak Sanctuary parking lot on the east side of Townline Road just under a mile north of State Route 82 on the Aurora/Mantua border.

SUMMARY:Bringing Down the Dams
DESCRIPTION:Elaine Marsh\, award-winning Watershed Specialist with the Summit Metro Parks\, comes to the Hudson Library & Historical Society on August 17 at 7 p.m. to tell the story of the 100 year Gorge dam\, its possible removal and current issues facing the Cuyahoga River. The Gorge Dam is a fascinating tale of gravity and water\, of scenic beauty\, water contamination\, and competing economies. March will discuss how our vision for the use of the Gorge has evolved and the transformative benefits of dismantling the dam. \nMarsh is a much honored and experienced environmentalist having worked with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources\, Cleveland Waterfront Coalition and co-founder of Friends of the Crooked River. She is the recipient of the John F.
