How many herons nest at the heronry on Bath Road? How many kinds of mammals live in Ohio? What’s the difference between a grasshopper and a katydid? Get the answers to these and many other questions at our Backyard Naturalist programs.

Typically six times per year, the ASGC brings in experts to speak on a variety of nature-related topics, from climate change to the songs of native insects. We’ve featured Jim McCarty of The Plain Dealer, Dr. Lisa Rainsong of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Kim Kaufman of the Black Swamp Bird Observatory and Marty Calabrese, naturalist at the Rocky River Nature Center.
