Felt “habitat board” a favorite with younger Scouts.

For Girl and Boy Scouts in kindergarten through third grade, this two-hour program is fast-paced and action-packed. Scouts examine feathers through stereoscopes, try out binoculars and experiment with different beak adaptations. There is a booklet with easy questions to answer, cloth bird wings to try on and owl pellets to dissect. The day is not complete without making a bird feeder to take home.

Other activities and take-homes are included. Upon completion of the program, Scouts receive a Junior Birder patch and a one-year membership in the ASGC. $5 per Scout. This event usually takes place in February, but check our calendar  for exact date and time. Space fills up quickly. Contact Us
